UX/UI Engineer
Come join Sokrati if you have the passion for designing a better web. Help define the user experience design and strategy for our online tools. You’ll work with our support, marketing, and IT teams on rebuilding the UI within our online support suite to improve usability through better design.
When presenting to the team, you’ll discuss the user experience guidelines that influenced your design, provide specification documents, wireframes and document improvements—all based on your expertise and previous work. This requires strong verbal, written and visual presentation skills.
Responsibilities:
* Layout of controls and content, wireframing of key interfaces
* Review and overhaul of existing applications to improve user experience
* Implementation of UI interaction behaviours in JavaScript
* Working with outsourcers to quality control the production of
HTML markup and CSS from design mocks
* Working with designers to ensure creative choices are compatible
with user experience goals
* Developing user-friendly interfaces.
* Focus on web app performance
* Initiates process improvement and ensuring compliance to
organization processes.
Required skills
* A minimum of 4 years successful experience designing and building
web experiences
* JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML
* Experience with JQuery
* Usability and user experience layout design
* Information architecture
* Interaction design
* Prototyping / wireframing
* Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, namely Illustrator, Coral
Draw, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver
Desirable skills:
* Some knowledge of Linux, Ruby and SQL * Experience with Various Graph libraries, widget generators. * Knowledge of UI frameworkDesirable background:
* Relevant bachelors degree and significant industry experience.
* Certification and/or training (or other comparable experience) in
UI design is a plus
